Pre-Designed
Plans are created for Do-It-Yourself
projects only and are not suited
for every application. Our staff
will determine if a Pre-Designed
Plan is sufficient for your individual
needs. Designed for the budget
conscious P-D Plans are created
for a variety of settings, including
colour scheme and directional
orientation of property and house.
As Easy As 1, 2, 3…
Step
1… The
client is asked to provide
detailed information regarding
their property including
an as-built detailed survey
that includes all measurements
of property lines, house
and offsets; distance
to street; easements (if
existing); directional
orientation of the property
and house; elevations;
grade changes; drainage
flow; swales; utilities;
pipes and downspout locates;
any existing elements
(trees; a/c; shed, city
sidewalk, etc); house
style and colour scheme;
preference in style of
landscaping; (formal,
informal, curved or straight
lines); preference in
rear hard surfaces (deck
or patio); driveway and
walkway; general use of
property and several photographs
of all areas of the property
taken from multiple angles
showing a variety of viewpoints.
All information should
be at 1/8th inch scale
and accurately recorded
on grid paper that will
be provided by Landscaping
With Style once our
services have been contracted.
All information and
photos will be retained
by LWS for future reference.
Step
2… At our
office our staff meets with
the client to evaluate the
information that has been
provided to ensure all necessary
data has been recorded.
Designer and client discuss
specific elements required
and a variety of Pre-Designed
Plans are reviewed to determine
the correct choice based
on the information presented
in Step One and additional
personal preferences of
the client. The client will
be shown a variety of materials
within the chosen plan including
plant types and surface
materials. Pre-Designed
Plans provide hard surface;
garden and lawn design layout
along with the planting
plan shown in legend form.
The client’s survey
is entered into our system
and the plan of choice
is imbedded onto a scaled
layout of the survey.
The Pre-Designed Plan
is altered to fit the
property and house dimensions
for a proper fit. Each
plan will show a series
of elevation details that
are designed to assist
the Do-It-Yourselfer through
the installation.
Step
3… Upon completion
of the Pre-Designed Plan,
the client returns to our
office to review the chosen
layout and our staff will
provide a variety of helpful
tips regarding the installation
of the various elements
of the design plan. Should
the client wish to stage
their installation we will
suggest an order of events
based on the style of the
property; access throughout
the site and potential limitations
of access.
The client
is provided with two plan
view copies of their Pre-Designed
Plan. The plan includes
a plant legend complete
with symbols and quantities
of plant materials. Additional
copies can be requested
at an extra charge.
Landscaping With Style
will make every effort
to provide a ‘fitted
plan’ for our Pre-Design
Plan clients however all
plans are considered ‘approximate’
regarding size, fit and
scale.
